Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God."
Stop striving. Stop keeping so busy. Stop ignoring Me. You must be intentional in your seeking and the best way is to "be still". To quiet our minds, our hearts, our souls and our life to create a space for God to connect with us. Once we do that, we can connect with Him! This is not a one-time event but we must continually seek His Face.
This verse is a good reminder that we must be still as God is already waiting for you. There is an old saying, "If you feel far from God, who moved?"
We chose Pecan Wood to engrave this beautiful verse due to its beauty and color. The wood is very pleasing and shows the engraving without fault.
In the marketplace, you can get any of the eight species when you buy hickory lumber. True hickory is found throughout the eastern United States. However, the range of pecan hickories is limited; bitternut is throughout the eastern United States; pecan is found from Texas to Louisiana, through Missouri and Indiana; water hickory is found in Texas through South Carolina; and nutmeg is found in Texas and Louisiana. Separation of lumber into the two groups is impossible unless chemical or microscopic tests are used.
We purchase our Pecan Hickory lumber from deep in the heart of the Texas hill country because we wanted Texas Pecan from Texas because it is the state Tree! The wood varies from light tan to a darker earth tone as shown in the picture.
The scripture is engraved on one side with the opposite side having no engraving. What that means is, if you choose, you can engrave on that side something special (maybe a name or event) or leave it plain. For any custom engraving, please add “One Side Custom Engraving” to your order. This will allow you to enter the specifics of the engraving. (Please note engraving on the blank side is an additional fee.)
Our Be Still Engraved HoldingCross comes with a simple yet meaningful card to compliment the cross and the engraving. The card is blank inside for your very special message. Your card is tucked together with an envelope in a cellophane package to keep the card clean and ready for you.
As with all of our crosses, there were no stains, lacquers or preservatives used to finish your cross; only a natural oil which is hand-rubbed and polished to enhance the woods natural beauty. When you hold our crosses, you are “feeling” the wood and “seeing” the wood as God created it. No two are alike as boards will vary in color and graining due the environmental conditions it was produced. The shine on the cross is related to the amount of “resin” in the make-up of the wood itself. The more resin the higher the shine.
Crosses are handcrafted in our Palestine, Texas (USA) facility offering the highest quality. Crosses do not require polishing. Holding your cross will allow the oils from your hands to go into the wood and create a soft, patina glow. Never use oil or olive oil on our crosses.

Each cross comes in an organza bag with a StoryTag telling the name of the wood and a StoryScroll which contains suggested prayers, CareGiving stories and other information. We do not offer seconds or damaged crosses. Our crosses are all first quality and handcrafted in our shop by our family.
