James, the apostle and brother of Jesus, gave us instruction for ministry. It starts with prayer.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.” (James 5:13 – 15)
Now, read the words of Jesus teaching us about the ministry of the Church (Matthew 25:35 – 40) :
“’For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'”
We see these two scriptures as instructions to the body of Christ for ministry work. We are all called to be ministers. A few wear a collar; most are common workers serving gracefully in the field. The MinistryPacks are meant to be tools for the harvest. They are meant to be tools for reaching out in care and prayer.
Pastoral counseling, youth ministries, lay Eucharistic ministry, Stephens Ministry, nursing home visitations, hospital ministry, addition rehabilitation ministry, marriage counseling and so many more ministries for the Body of Christ to minister to one another with a simple wooden cross.
We pray you will be filled with wonder and joy by the power of the spirit as He leads you on your journey.
We created MinistryPacks to make it easier for you to have a variety of HoldingCrosses on hand. They come in Small or Large boxes. The Small MinistryPack has five HoldingCrosses. The Large MinistryPack has ten.
There are several different assortments to choose from and they all are discounted from the regular price for the HoldingCrosses if you purchased them separately.
Some of you may be thinking ... "I need a few but I certainly don't need that many!" This may be true, but God might just be using you to reach out and minister to someone else in need. It may not be someone you know that well ... or someone you don't know at all. Many customers have shared with us how they were "moved" to give a HoldingCross to someone on a plane or in the doctor's office or in the grocery store. Could that have been a "nudge" from the Holy Spirit? Could that have been compassion welling up in their heart discerning a person in need?
Reaching out to another with the HoldingCross is so easy as it requires no evangelical skills and no biblical truths lecture. Just a simple "I've got something for you". Sometimes the best gift we can offer is one without words.
All MinistryPacks are pre-packed and pre-selected. The pictures we've created are representative of the wood and color of the HoldingCrosses. Like the individual HoldingCrosses, each MinistryPack will be similar but different. All of the HoldingCrosses come with tags, organza bags and all of the quality you have come to expect from HoldingCross.com. We’ve not cut any corners on these offerings, only the price! MinistryPacks are available through our website ordering and the Frisco ShowRoom only.
NOTE : Shipping fees may be slightly higher for Hawaii, Alaska and International orders. For MinistryPack sales within the State of Texas, sales tax of 8.25% will apply unless the appropriate tax-exempt paperwork is received with your order.
